Report: Demaryius Thomas died of ‘complications of a seizure disorder’

Broncos star Demerius Thomas has died at the age of 33.

The Fulton County (Ga.) Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that former All-Pro receiver Demerius Thomas died from “complications of a seizure disorder.” According to an autopsy obtained by 9News Denver,

Thomas, 33, was at his Roswell, Ga., on December 9, two weeks before his 34th birthday. were found dead in the shower at the house located. A day later, Thomas’ family issued a statement saying they believe he died after suffering seizures while in the bath after dealing with repeated seizures since a car accident in 2019.

According to 9News, the medical examiner confirmed that Thomas suffers from a seizure disorder, but could not determine whether it was “the result of natural causes or head impacts” from his football career. The report, which was made public on Friday, comes exactly a month after new York Times reported that Boston University researchers posthumously diagnosed pre-Broncos with stage 2 chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).
