Love Island 2022 finals: Akin-su and David crown winners after show, big last minute change

Congratulations to Ekin-su and David, who have been named champions for the eighth series. The pair, who will take home the £50,000 prize between them, made it Grand finale with three other couples.

Indiyah and Dami, Tasha and Andrew, Luca and Gemma and Ekin-su and David all made it to the final stages of the competition – but only one pair could make it the champion.

Before the winners were revealed, the pair were up against Gemma and Luca in the final two, who were crowned runners-up. During this, Third place went to Indiyah and Dami, with Tasha and Andrew finishing fourth.

Once Ekin-su and David were declared winners, they could not hide their excitement. David told Laura that he could not believe it, while Ekin-su was speechless and in tears.

Dami and India finished third

after pair Announced as the winners, Laura then handed over the all-important cash prizes to both islanders. But in a change to their usual format, the winners were told they would share the money among them this year, rather than deciding whether to split or share the money.

The final episode of the series was filmed live from the Love Island villa in Majorca where host Laura Whitmore presented as usual. A live crowd of Love Island fans was also present at the Villa Garden to watch the announcement of the winning couple.

Prior to the announcement of the lucky couple, live spectators and spectators were shown pre-recorded footage from the Islander’s final hours at the villa.

Ekin-su and David win!

The contestants took part in some salsa dance lessons organized by two professionals who were welcomed at the villa. The couple brushed up on their moves ahead of the official Love Islander summer ball.

After dance tutorials, girls and boys dress up to the nines to celebrate a final hooray. During a romantic event, couples express their love for each other by writing a poem, a song, or declaring their devotion.
