John Legend says Trump’s endorsement of Kanye West ended friendship

Kanye West and John Legend haven’t mended their broken relationship. The legend, which West has publicly called a “sale”, confirmed that politics caused a rift in their friendship.

“We’re not as friends as we used to be,” Legend said on Wednesday. ax files Podcast on CNN. “I honestly think because we publicly disagreed on Trump supporting him, running for office. I think it just became too much for us to maintain our friendship.”

West was the most famous supporter of former President Donald Trump and confirmed last year that he “still got a red hat.” Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband ran an unsuccessful 2020 presidential race as a third-party candidate, but his campaign was apparently fueled by several Republican operatives who wanted to get Trump re-elected.

David Axelrod noted that Legend was not the only one who did not support West’s bid for president.

“I wasn’t alone in that, but, you know, he wasn’t happy about it. And we haven’t really been close since,” replied Legend.

No love is lost at the west end.

In November, the “Runaway” singer called out Legend and Big Sean for their lack of support, calling them “scared”.

“Both John Legend and Big Sean, when I ran for office, were quickly used by Democrats to come down on the boys who really changed their lives. And that’s some sold-out bullshit. And I’m against any of them.” doesn’t rock along and I need my apologies,” he said on the Drink Champs podcast.

Legend and wife, Chrissy Teigen, have been close to the Kardashians.
