That win put the Brewers in lockstep for the top spot in the division. It is a narrow run to the top of the NL Central. The Brewers also find themselves on the edge of a wild-card race. Can they gain some ground by taking on the Reds again on Saturday at American Family Field? The game starts at 7:15, with coverage starting at 7:00 on Fox.
Moving into Saturday’s MLB slate, the Brewers are tied with the Cardinals at the top of the NL Central, with the St. Louis holding the tiebreaker. They are also tied with the Phillies for the third and final wild card spot in the NL.
The Brewers will send Aaron Ashby to the mound on Saturday. In his last outing last Sunday, the lefty did not allow a run, dismissing six hitters in four and one-third innings against the Red Sox.
Cincinnati will compete with one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, lefty Nick Lodolo. The seventh overall pick in 2019, Lodolo made his MLB debut earlier this year. He has 4.23 ERAs in a total of eight starts, with 54 strikeouts in 38-and-a-half innings.
