Rian Johnson’s All-Star Whodunit Sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery The 2022 BFI London Film Festival is set to kick off.
The Netflix feature — starring Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madeline Kline, Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista — will have a European premiere on October 16 at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The curtain on the 66th edition of the event will open with Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical on 5 october
Johnson is expected to participate along with Craig, Norton, Monáe, Odom Jr., Hudson and Kline, with other names to be confirmed soon.
“I’m thrilled to be back at LFF glass onion, and it is an honor to close the festival,” Johnson said. “A proper whodunnit is actually in London, so it feels like coming home!”
The follow-up to the 2018 box office smash knives out, glass onion Craig back as super sleuth Detective Benoit Blanc, this time traveling to Greece to peel back the layers of a new mystery. As before, Johnson produced the new film with Ram Bergman under his T-Street banner. Following the success of the original, Netflix swooped in in March 2021 to pay $469 million for the rights to two sequels, written and directed by Johnson.
