Former Sephora employee admits she ‘wouldn’t’ shop for cosmetics after working there

A former Sephora employee reveals all the secrets she learned while working there.

There are some things TikToker Sara Palmyra will never do again at Sephora. While she says she “absolutely loved” her time in the store and had an “amazing experience,” not everything was perfect. Here’s what you should avoid the next time you head to the beauty store.

“Here are some things I wouldn’t do after working at Sephora,” she explained. “I will no longer use makeup remover or cotton round remover makeup on my face.”

Palmyra said she was responsible for changing makeup remover and cotton rounds at the store. Responsibility was not high on the priority list, so the staff never bothered to clean the containers.

“I don’t know what it is about the fluorescent lighting at Sephora,” she said. “As soon as I’ve done color-matching in-store without going out first, I won’t buy foundation anymore.”

The lighting throws off any color-matching done in the store, so be sure to check if it’s the right shade in natural light. Palmyra also said that the sample-sized Minis aren’t worth the price.

One user wrote, ‘Thank you for telling us about Cotton Round.

“I always mismatch shade,” commented one person.

“Since I no longer work at Sephora, I won’t be stepping there anymore,” someone said.

“Thanks for the lighting! I always say the lights out there are awesome and come out with an awesome foundation,” said another.

One TikToker replied, “The only thing I can say about the Mini—are they good value if you work forever to finish products/have a ton of stuff.”
