English actor Dev Patel successfully broke up a fight outside a convenience store in South Australia in which a man was stabbed in the chest.

Representatives confirmed Patel – who has starred in films including Slumdog Millionaire, Lion and The Green Knight – and his friends “saw a violent transformation that was already taking place outside a convenience store”.

In a statement to Variety, he said: “Dev acted on his natural instinct to try to play down the situation and break up the fight.”

English actor Dev Patel was seen stabbed in Adelaide’s CBD, leaving a man hospitalized.

The Slumdog Millionaire and Lion actor was questioned by the police after the incident on Gauger Street last night.

“The group was thankfully successful in doing so and they remained on site to ensure that the police and eventually an ambulance arrived.”

South Australia Police confirmed that a woman has been arrested following an incident in the Adelaide city centre, where she allegedly stabbed a man in the chest.

In a statement, police said: “On Monday 1 August at around 8.45 pm, police were called to Gauger Street following reports of a man and woman fighting in the street. The couple continued fighting inside a nearby service station. , where witnesses attempted to end the fight.”

“The pair know each other, and this is no accident.”

A 32-year-old man from Glengory was treated at the scene by ambulance officers before being taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. ,

“A 34-year-old woman from Park Holme was charged with grievous assault that caused damage.”

According to police, the woman was denied bail and was produced in the Adelaide Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Patel’s team gave a statement about the incident.

“There are no heroes in this situation and sadly, this specific incident highlights a larger systemic issue of marginalized members of society not being treated with dignity and respect,” the statement said.

“Hopefully this story is getting the same level of media attention (simply because Dev, as a celebrity, was involved) for lawmakers being kind in determining long-term solutions to not only help individuals but the community at large,” it concluded.

Patel was living in Adelaide at the house of his girlfriend Tilda Cobham-Hervey.

When Cobham-Hervey stepped down as the female lead, the two met at the Hotel Mumbai after Teresa Palmer withdrew due to her pregnancy.
