Chelsea are preparing a better bid to sign Wesley Fofana and The Verge have confirmed their interest in acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has talked about two possible major exits.

The Blues recently confirmed the possession of former Brighton defender, Mark Cucurella. The Spaniard is making its way to an initial £55m and £7m potentially pending add-on to AMEX.

Some would have assumed it was one or the other from Cucurella and Fofana, however. Chelsea There seem to be other ideas.

Thomas Tuchel’s side has already seen a £62m bid for Fofana which has been categorically rejected by Fox. Leicester’s stance has been their star centre-half so far, with lead playwright James Madison both not for sale.

Madison is on Newcastle’s radar and the 25-year-old will need a huge new magpie transfer record. The current figure in that regard stands at £40m paid to sign Joelinton.

Now, speaking at his Friday press conference, Brendan Rodgers breaks his silence on the possible departure of his star men.

When asked if there would be any other big names after Kasper Schmeichel’s move to Nice, Rodgers said (via Leicestershire Live): “I hope not.

“These players are not for sale. We need to get players out, but it’s not getting rid of everyone and certainly not our best asset.

“It’s something the club is very strong on. James and Wesley are training very well and working hard for our game on Sunday.”

Leicester There may be a refusal to move, though that won’t stop the suitors from chanting their hand.

Fofana may move on if records fall

really, times report Chelsea are preparing a better, £70m bid to sign Fofana.

Contrary to Rodgers’ stance, his article claims that Leicester may sell if the defender receives a world record fee. Harry Maguire currently holds that gap through his £80m sale to Man Utd in 2019.

Furthermore, the article adds to Leicester’s understanding when Fofana signed a new long-term contract in March that the Frenchman would not leave until next summer at the earliest.

This suggests that the Foxes are well aware that they will not keep Fofana for long, although whether or not he is retained beyond this summer will depend on how high Chelsea’s bid is.

Aubameyang confirmed interest

On the subject of Aubameyang, Time Reports Chelsea are genuinely interested in having a reunion with Thomas Tuchel.

Aubameyang played the best football of his career under the German during his time at Dortmund. The Gabon superstar scored 79 goals in 95 matches during his two-year tenure.

Speaking at his press conference on Friday, Tuchel declined to engage in speculation.

He joked: “I would be interested in 79 goals! We will not comment further.

“There are so many names out there, sometimes we discuss too many names but sometimes there’s pure speculation. We won’t get into it.”

However, the arrival of Robert Lewandowski at Camp Nou has cast doubt on Aubameyang’s future.

It is common knowledge that Barca will have to drop players before registering many of their new faces. Aubameyang appears to be a prime candidate in this regard and sky game Dharmesh Sheth recently elaborated on why a reunion at Stamford Bridge? Not as fictional as you might think.
